Urban Plates makes the best cheeseburgers. (Double burgers, NO ONIONS, add bacon.) I love their regular fries, too. (The truffle parmesan fries are a bit much for me. Plain me.) And their hummus and pita chips are great, too. I highly recommend ordering from UP if you want a good burger. I cut mine in half and couldn't quite finish half, with fries, in one sitting. Truly delicious.

I took my sons here after I told them that I dined at the location in Playa Vista. Of course, they wanted to try the food now. Lol. Let's jump right into this review. My sons are young men and ordered the same thing - go figure. Disclaimer - these crumbsnatchers of mine have special palettes - they are picky eaters. Anything outside the norm = problem food. Ok, here we go... What we did we get - Chicken 3 Tender Plate 700 calories $16.75pp Classic crispy or nashville hot. Three crispy jumbo, hand tossed buttermilk-battered, antibiotic & hormone free, never frozen chicken tenders, choice of house made dipping sauce. Sides: Fries and Mac N' Cheese Chicken tenders - OK, meaty and juicy, but, the breading was soggy per the crumbsnatchers. No crispy outside. That was a bummer for all of us. This could be due to the type of oil the chicken I fried in. *check out Urban Plates website. What I love is how they have videos on how the food is made. Step by step. Call me a geek, but, I enjoy watching the videos and knowing exactly how my food is prepared and cooked* Fries were just fries, nothing spectacular but tasted just fine. Mac N' Cheese - definitely is not what they are accustomed too. It was missing a lot of somethings, they said. It's not your Thanksgiving Mac N' Cheese, but the ingredients are quality in my opinion and taste wasn't bad. It's decent. We all agree that Urban Plates is a healthier option and we would dine again and try different menu items. The menu has variety. Pros 1. Urban Plates is located in the Manhattan Beach area - down the parking lot - literally from the Manhattan Beach Mall. Nice area. 2. Plenty of parking including pickup parking for your dining out needs. 3. Professional and friendly service. 4. Great ambiance. Clean established. Indoor and outdoor seating. 5. Price point isn't bad taking into consideration the area and quality of food plus portion sizes. Cons 1. Taste of food is lacking in some entrees. This could be a preference in pallette. But, the expectation of certain foods like chicken tenders should have consistency in taste. Urban Plates has a other locations and is worth a try. Given today's health driven society, you get food and options with quality ingredients and spins on some traditional entrees (i.e. salads).

Sandro provided the best service... friendly, attentive, helpful, and very personable. Better service than most high-end restaurants.

Thoroughly enjoyed our January birthdays lunch @ the manhattan bch store, featuring my now 90 yr old dad. Service was great as usual. Sandro, our main server made everyone feel extra special and helped our group make the festivities even more festive, i had the braised beef soup. it was a generous portion. did not have it this time but love the beet salad & lamb shank; when in season. the key lime pie was excellent as has been the mango one in the past. make sure to sign up for the monthly pass as I'm sure you will be using it quite often. Steve, the manager here runs a tight happy crew. we ate on the patio where the gas lamps were blazing away and even enjoyed the few others who joined us for cake as they passed by.

Still a Plate Pass member after a year. We still frequent Urban Plates a couple times a month for take-out. My current favorite is the beets + avocado plant based bowl. The quinoa is warm, so it feels more like a meal than just a cold salad. Very satisfying yet light. The regular mixed beet salad, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, chimichurri steak, blackened salmon, or 3 side combo are all in the rotation. Never disappoints.

Recently had Urban Plates and it was delicious. The food was well made and seasoned and delicious. Will be coming back again. Plus it is very healthy. The brócoli and the potatoes were so delicious.

I have avoided this location since my last review. I am so glad I decided to come in and give them another try. The food was perfect. All 3 of us received amazing portions of steak all cooked to perfection. Sides were wonderful. I had the beet salad and new herb roasted potatoes. The chefs were on their game. But the service star was Sandro. He is was polite, energetic and passionate about Urban Plates. Service was outstanding, the store was clean and well stocked, and as I mentioned the food was on point. My confidence is restored in this location.

What an awesome experience coming back to Urban Plates. Sandro came out and gave us a very welcoming experience by engaging with us making feel as part of the Urban plates family. The food came out amazing. Our steak plates were cooked perfectly. Definitely will be coming back with the quality output here today.
